Cure Sweating Naturally

Excessive underarm sweating is a condition whereby a person sweats excessively in the armpits. In most cases, this condition causes an unpleasant odor. My self esteem when down the tubes, and caused me a lot of public embarrassment.

Excessive underarm sweating can be stopped, but you first must know the rout causes of the condition. It is usually hereditary, meaning it is passed down through your family. The medical term used for this condition is axillary hyperhidrosis.

Most treatments that claim to stop excessive underarm sweating have horrible side effects that are worse than the condition to begin with. I have tried so many treatments that it is hard to keep track, but in the most yielded little to no results.

These treatments contain chemicals such as formalin, glutaraldehyde, and aluminium that actually attempt to block pores so that sweat does not reach the skins surface. They all have bad side effects. Skin irritation is the biggest side effect of these treatments, and they also need to be applied several times a day to be effective. This can cause you a lot of money over time due to the fact that it is not a long term solution.

Iontophoresis is another option. A mild electric shock sent through the effected area while it is immersed into tap water.

Botox injections have been used for trying to stop excessive underarm sweating as well. In this treatment, botulinum toxin is injected into the arm pit to stop the release of acetylcholine. The main side effect is that it causes extreme pain and has little effect. This will require you to get repeated injections every six months, and may be too expensive for most people.

Surgery is the most drastic method to help stop excessive underarm sweating. Only go down this road after all other options have been tried. There are basically 2 forms of surgery. Clipping is one option for surgery. It involves placing titanium clips across the sympathetic nerves which will cause them to stop sending signals to the glands which produce sweat. The other form of surgery is cutting, which involves cutting the nerves with a scissors. Your body will compensate by sweating excessively in another area once your underarms no longer sweat. It can potentially damage the tissues and nervous structures, and may cause neck pain or internal bleeding.
