Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro And Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

Last February 2010, Barcelona, Spain played host to Global System for Mobile Communications Association's (GSMA) annual event, the Mobile World Congress (MWC). The event had over 1,300 companies. These companies showcased their new devices, applications, technologies, and accessories.

There were also a number of speakers from different mobile companies; Sony Ericsson's Hans Vestberg was one of them. It was during the event when Sony Ericsson unveiled their latest mobile phones, one of which was the Sony Ericsson EXPERIA X10 Mini Pro. Most describe the XPERIA Mini Pro as a compressed version of the Sony Ericsson EXPERIA X10.

XPERIA X10

The XPERIA X10 is a smartphone that runs the Android 1.6 operating system. It comes with a 1 GHz Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon processor. It has 3G HSDPA and HSUPA and WiFi that allows XPERIA X10 users to access and browse the internet. It also comes with Bluetooth and microUSB for wireless and cabled data transfer.

The X10 comes with a 4.0 inch TFT capacitive touch screen that shows 65K color display with resolution of 480 by 854 pixels. It has dimensions of 119 by 63 by 13 millimeters. The X10 is light with a weight of 135 grams.

The smartphone comes with an 8 megapixel camera. The camera has autofocus, smile detection and geo-tagging features. It also comes with LED flash.

The X10 has an internal memory of 1GB and it has microSD slot intended for cards that can reach up to 16 GB.

XPERIA X10 Mini Pro

Like the Xperia X10, the Mini Pro also runs on the Android 1.6 operating system. However, the Mini Pro comes with a slower processor with 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227. Even though the Mini Pro runs on a slower processor, Ericsson assures Mini Pro buyers that the interface of the phone is just as functionally rich as the Xperia X10. The Mini Pro also comes with 3G HSDPA and HSUPA and WiFi for internet connections and Bluetooth and microUSB for data transfer, like other smartphones.

Because the Mini Pro is smaller and more compact than the X10, the touch screen of the Mini Pro is also smaller. The Mini Pro comes with a 2.55 TFT capacitive touch screen with resolution of 240 by 320 pixels. The dimensions of the Mini Pro are 90 by 52 by 17 millimeters. The Mini Pro is smaller than the X10; however it is also thicker because the former comes with a QWERTY keyboard while the X10 is strictly a touch screen gadget. The Mini Pro is also lighter than the X10 with a weight of 120 grams.

The Mini Pro also comes with a camera. However, unlike the X10, the Mini Pro comes with a 5 megapixel camera. The camera also has autofocus and geo-tagging features. Although the internal memory of the Mini Pro is lower than that of the X10's, it also has microSD that can go as high as 16 GB, as well.

Conclusion

Although, the X10 has relatively better features than its smaller brother, the Mini Pro, it's still considered by some smartphone users as a first-class smartphone. It is especially perfect for those users who want their smartphones small and compact without compromising the features.
